She has performed with the world class tap company, Rhapsody in Taps, at Los Angeles’ National Tap Dance Day and also with Dianne “Lady Di” Walker in Portland, Oregon. She has been a judge at Dance Magic Competitions and also a guest judge at Star Competitions Nationals. While attending Scripps College in Claremont, CA she also headed their tap program and taught all tap classes at the school. She has had the privilege of studying with the great Julane Stites while attending Jefferson High School’s prestigious dance program and also with Oregon Ballet Theatre’s Fred Locke. She has trained with Melissa St. Clair, Mary Oslund and has been a company member of Keith Goodman’s Modern Dance Laboratory. For the last twenty years she has devoted her life to studying and performing tap, jazz, ballet, modern and Hip-Hop. Anna Smith has been teaching dance for the last fifteen years. She has taught at Terry Brock’s School of Dance, Scripps College and The Stites Performing Arts Center. She is proud to say her greatest influence in the dance world has been her mentor and teacher, Terry Brock. And her greatest achievement has been creating a school where dancers can not only grow, but thrive. |
